On the Move With the Barons Water, water! was a cry heard many times by every manager. This yearls managers for the varsi- ty football team were Mark Phillips, Keith Griffin, Kirk Griffin, and Ken Rosefield, all members of the sixth grade. These young men had several new and exciting ex- periences. Mark said, ill enjoyed being a manager and meeting all the players, especially Patrick Richburg and Bucky Fidler, and the coaches. The managers learned real responsibility and had many important duties, including running water onto the field, always having a clean ball to send onto the field, and keeping the nred box, of medical and equipmental aids organized. All four managers worked hard with the added bonus of eating pre-game meals with the Varsity, riding a chartered bus to Thomas Heyward, and receiving that special feeling of pride that comes with the victories. Although these young men will be playing football next year, they will never forget their experiences, knowing that they put forth their best as managers.
