triumphant Senior girls, coaches, and rleaders gather together to excitedly con- Jlate one another. ervously Dana Walkertreceives instruc- ms from Junior coaches. We T. Brogdon 1d Mickey Plowden. Q The war is on! Man your positions! Guard your yards! The Juniors and Seniors are coming. Thus began the 1985-86 Powder Puff season. The Powder Puff game stirred up rivalry and competitive tension bet- ween the Junior and Senior members of the NIKE club. The senior victory at 18-8 proved who had the guts and dexterity to win. Before the game a heavy cloud of competition and mischievousness lay over Baron ter- ritory. Many Juniors and Seniors awoke to a blizzard of toilet paper dangling from their trees. The Seniors received a wreath of dead roses but counter-attacked by sending the Juniors cemetery flowers, a sym- pathy card, and an obituary. Despite these pranks, the pass- ing of deadly looks and the threats of bodily harm, neither the Senior nor Junior Nike girls took the game too seriously. Everyone knew that the fun was in the rivalry and com- petition rather than the outcome of the game. Still, the treaty will never be signed as long as the Nike Powder Puff game is played.
