President. It takes more than filling out a form. You must be at least a Sophomore, be willing to participate in community activities, and be liked by present members. Being an Octagon member was a special opportunity to meet with girls of similar interests and to uphold the clubs purpose which was to provide service to the com- munity as well as to the school. Ad- vised by Mrs. Beverly Thomas, the club had plans to sponsor a Mr. Baron Contest, with the money earned going to a charitable cause. Asked why Louise Kay was in the Octagon Club, she replied, lil like helping my school as well as the com- munity.
