Alumni gathered from every Allison Gulledge waits anxiously for halftime to see who will be the new Homecoming Queen. Cile Chappell, last years Homecoming Queen, gives Susan James a congratulatory hug as sponsor Bucky Fidler and head- master Mr. Love look on. 0a m Way to WW Sweet WW! corner of the state and some from colleges and cities beyond South Carolina. Cile Chappell returned from Converse College to crown Susan James the new Homecoming Queen. Asked how she felt about being chosen, Susan replied, ttI was honored because my friends and the student body voted for me. Susan was sponsored by Bucky Fidler and escorted by her brother, Michael James. Homecoming is an assemblage of friends and families at an event everyone went to in high school e a Friday night football game. Former teachers and graduates came back to watch and support the Barons. Homecoming wasn,t just a football game with beautiful girls and muscular football players parading on the field at halftime. The event was a once-in-a-lifetime reunion of former graduates and aspiring underclassmen anxious to hear about college life.
