Yelling. Screaming. Jumping p and down. Pompom routines. -kits. Stunts. The Varsity Basketball heerleaders did all of these and more 0 arouse the fans spirit at the asketball games. Since June, the .heerleaders endlessly practiced and oerfected cheers and pompom outines. When basketball season olled around, they were enthusiastic nd excited. At the first pep rally, to he music of 2001, the curtain was pened on the Varsity Boys, clad in uxedos and holding basketballs. The heerleaders were their escorts to the enter of the court. This pep rally howed the school that this was no 53.. Getting Lathe crowds Stephanie Cm bask, mm PPOIt . brows: a plastic Diamonds Are Forever regular season e it was hour winning season! Every week the Varsity Girls and Boys were given something, be it candy, cookies, or cards, to let them know that the cheerleaders were behind them. The squad was made up of five Juniors and five Sophomores. Under Valerie Stuckey,s and Leigh Simp- son's leadership, they all put in 11096 effort and made the squad the best it could be. Friendships were formed and strengthened, as shown always in the girls smiling faces. The 85-86 squad was only once in a lifetime, but the memories will last forever! Clapping to the beat, the cheerleaders get the crowd excited.
