Although the team might not have had the best record, the future looked bright, as Ronald Mitchell explained, llAfter playing our first game, I think we have a lot of potential. We have a good coach and a lot of talented players. The Barons also had two other reasons to be hopeful: Deidre Morris and Tracy Adler. Why did these two try out for the team, knowing that they would be the only girls on the field? Deidre Morris said, uI like soccer and I thought it would be a new experience, however, Tracy Adler admitted, It is rough to be one of only two girls on the team. With all this talent and the guidance of Coach Zeeff, the soccer team worked hard to reach the state finals. Soccer w. 103

This yearis nine member volleyball team consisted of three Seniors, four Juniors and two Freshmen. Although the team won no matches, they won many games, working well together to defeat other teams with much more ex- perience. By the end of their season, the team had improved greatly and showed it by their quick moves and the closeness of the scores. An old favorite was brought back to the Hall this year -- Intramural Volleyball. Each homeroom in grades 7-12 had a team that par- ticipated, with Mrs. Thomas's homeroom emerging as the cham- pions. With all the volleyball action around the school this year, it was evident that volleyball is certainly an up-and-coming sport at Wilson Hall. 104 .. Volleyball
