Get Excited About Our Super Season Get excited, get - Get Ex- cited! The J.V. cheerleaders cer- tainly did get excited and en- thusiastic as they cheered the J.V. football team to victory. After days of working in the hot sun during August making up new cheers and chants, practicing stunts, and perfecting pompom routines, the cheerleaders were ready for the season. This squad was also in- volved in a stunt with the varsity football cheerleaders. Many new ideas for cheers and chants that are used by all cheerleaders were started by the J.st. One particularly exciting game they cheered for was against TSA. With just a few seconds left in the game, the Barons had to score a touchdown to win. Without the urg- ing and screaming of the cheerleaders, who got all the fans to stand by the sidelines and yell, it would have been tougher for the team to score the winning 100 JJV Football Cheerleaders touchdown. Quarterback Tripp Lee describes the game as lla great team effort and a big boost from the fans?' It was the responsibility of the cheerleaders to raise the spirit of the fans and they definitely did that. These talented girls were headed by co-head Elizabeth Lee and Nan- cy Walden. Nancy summed up her feelings about cheering by saying, uNot only is cheering fun but you also become more closer friends with the people you cheer with. All the hard work pays off. At halftime, Beth Rhyne and Nancy Walden talk to several of their friends. The tower is completed as Michelle Wallace climbs aboard J .V. and Varsity cheerleaders at a pep rally. Moving up to the Varsity squad to cheer at Homecoming, these J .st show their winning smiles.
