Burnint Barons The scoreboard read Thomas Sumter - ZTWilson Hall - 0 with only fifteen seconds left in the game. As fans lined up along the fence, Tripp Lee called the play in the huddle. The Baron linemen fired off the ball on the snap and provided Don Blanding with the blocking he needed to hurdle a lone General and land in the end zone. As Baron hands went into the air symboliz- . ing touchdown, the yellow flag came , L Dan Reynolds, an V 5 down and nullified the score. Penalties mm Generalquarterback. had hurt the Barons the entire game, i but this one lit a fire in the playerst hearts that could not be extinguished. Two plays later, with only seven seconds left on the clock, the tenacious Barons awaited anxiously for the snap- ping of the ball. The stage was set and heroes were shortly to be decided. Time ran out as Tripp Lee unleashed the miraculous throw to Tripp Waynick, giving the Barons six points and a victory.
