Leitch: As an admissions officer it has been exciting and heartwarming to note the involvement of incoming students, not only in their school activi- ties but in their active participation in volunteer work, time consuming but always rewarding. It is essential that this enthusiasm and contribution of self be extended through every phase of college life. To be a member of Senate, one of Sam's Gang, on a faculty committee,-wherever you are-the degree of involvement is in direct proportion to the degree of commitment, and the accepted responsi- bility of bringing new ideas, criticism, balanced by positive recommendations for improvement, and an outlook beyond the bounds of the campus. Kathleen King: I support student involvement both in campus issues and policy making, and in the social problems which, if left unsolved, are a threat to our existence. Institutions of higher learning should be taking steps to foster student concern and involvement. I think it would be appropriate for a college like Wilson to provide for eead hoc courses to supply the relevant scholarly and intel- lectual background to subjects of active student concern.
