orincipal God has placed in the heart of every man an image of what he may become. each of us has our own particular talents, but they must be whittled out, some- times slowly and painfully, if they lie forever buried and unused, we shall never have made our full measure of contribution to the lives of others and the success of our american way of life. a rare stradivarius violin is valuable only because it can produce beautiful music. money is valuable only because it commands goods and service. talents and abilities are valuable to the individual and the world onl if they are first exposed and then used. a talent discovered and developed will be lost only if not put into use. the great obiect of education is to discover abilities and to develop ways of putting them to use. but education is a continuing process. the man who is educated today and stops learning, is uneducated tomorrow. l. ernest tarr congratulations, class of l952, on a iob well done! may your commencement be only the be- ginning of a happy, worthwhile life, enriched in the service of others. peter r. sagge se i am proud of the record you, as seniors, have made. if you continue to manage the days well, the years are bound to be suc- cessful. my most sincere wish for your future happiness and prosperity is with you. william r. johnson 7
