W CLUB Everyone interested in our school can be justly proud of the results of our fine athletic program under the direction of Mr. Bucci assisted by Mr. Brice. This pro- gram is sponsored by the Boy's Athletic Association and by the W Club, pictured above. Our basketball team won a co-championship, our football team placed second in the con- ference, and our baseball team proved that they were of championship calibre by winning the sectional meet and losing the regional by a narrow margin after having placed second in the conference. The coveted W is given to all athletes who are outstanding in any sport and it is accompanied by gold footballs or basketballs for members of championship teams. VOLLEY BALL Astrong volley ball team composed of Max Richter, Dick Brehm, Bob Meredith, Dan Survillas, John Rodis, Joe Kominiak and Francis Milner competed in the district tournament at Whitewater. They beat Darien L5-5, l5-5 for the first 2 games- Then they proceeded to whip Whitewater City High l5-5, L5-7 and Whitewater College High l5-4 and L5-8. They then beat Clinton in the finals L5-l2 and l5-l2 By winning this they were allowed to compete in the State Tourney. They lost at Madison in 2 out of 3 games to La Farge L4-l6, L5-l3, l5-l l, and then to Clinton L5-6 and L5-5.
