FRESHMEN On September 5, 1950, ninety-four frightened Freshmen enrolled at Wilmot High School. In a very few days we became accustomed to high school life and activities. At our first class meeting capable Officers to carry us through the year were elected as follows: Herman Spaay, Jr., President, Lloyd Casey, Vice-President, LaDonna Casey, Secretary-Trea- surerg and Bob Brehm, Student Council representative. In January our vice-president and secretary- treasurer both transferred to other schools and Eddie Roberts and Donna Rasch were elected to fill the vacancies left by those officers. Mr. Stein was appointed as our class advisor. The annual carnival was an event none of us will ever forget. Carol Martin and Bob Brehm were our candidates in the King and Queen contest- Our lack of experience showed up in our placing fourth, but we know we will do better in coming years. The gay Christmas party was a lot of fun. The exchange of gifts and the dancing that followed were certainly enjoyed by the large number of Freshmen who attended. All of us had heard of initiations but didn't expect one, until several days before the Sophomore-Freshmen party, when we heard rumo rs floating around school about what was to happen that evening. The party was held in the gym, March 17, l95l. lt was really a lot of fun although a few tricks were played on some of the Freshmen. We did fairly well in the magazine sales but we can't say the same for the basketball tournament. Both the boys and girls were on the bottom. We took part in a great many other extra- curricular activities and had several outstanding members in most departments. We also had our share of honor students- We are looking forward to our Sophomore year at Wilmot High with much enthusi- asm. VVe'll be able to look down on the new Freshmen and their problems, but we'll know exactly how they feel.
