JUNIOR CLASS The Junior Class of 'Sl numbered ninety upon arrival on September 5, l95O, but de- clined to eighty-five by the end of the first semester. During registration, the Juniors found an old story revised. They selected their courses, the time for classes was arranged by faculty advisors, and as responsible students they complied with the wishes of the faculty. Subjects offered to a .lunior are Chemistry, Geometry, English, Shorthand, Home Economics, Agriculture, and American History. Mr. Brice, our class advisor, took charge of our first meeting. We elected our class officers: Myron Schultz, President, Tom Jester, Vice President, Dorothy Reiter, Secretary-Treasurer, and Duane Skillings, Student Council. Ronald Firchow was elected Junior Editor of the annual. Competitive spirit rose as carnival time rolled around. Posters, ticket sales, and a sec- ond-place play, A Trip To The Moon , gave the class second in the finals. Jean Reynolds and Ray Snyder were our candidates for king and queen. Junior participants in the Christmas Party choral group made the class proud as the group did a superb piece of work in helping to set up the proper spirit for Christmas. On January third we received our class rings. Everyone was very pleased with them. On February twenty-third our class play, The Bat , a mystery comedy, won the ap- proval of both students and adults. It was under the direction of Miss Maliarik and we wish to thank her and everyone who helped to make it a success. Magazine sales, an annual event, obtained for the school a trophy. Juniors were happy to have participated in the activity as we reached an all-time high at Wilmot. Committees have been chosen and the Prom is under way. The theme is, An En- chanted Evening in an Enchanted Forest . We all hope that it will be very successful. The class has members in the Music Department, Camera Club, Boys and Girls Ath- letic Department, F. F, A. and F. H. A., Dramatics, Creative Writing, and Spanish Club. We are proud of them. The Juniors anxiously await baseball tournaments and the track meet, as we finished third and second in the basketball tournaments Picnic, exams, and June will come too soon for most of the Juniors. As they cross the threshold into their Senior year, they hope they have contributed something to the school that is giving them so much.
