Attention is especially called to the following, from the complete Building By-Laws: Footing Forms must be inspected before pouring concrete. Chimneys must be built with flue lining entirely surrounded by hard clay brick. Metal fire stops, or equivalent, to be placed around chimney at each floor and each ceiling level. - 2 feet minimum above ridge, unless ridge is over 10 feet distant. Walls and petitions must be tire-stopped at each floor and at each ceiling. Positively no lathing shall be done, or framework covered with any other material including insulation, until all fire-stopping is in and the same has been passed upon by the Building Commissioner. Plumbing gas fitting and wiring must be inspected and passed before inspection of fire stopping. To this end the Inspectors must be notified when the work is ready for inspection.
