my HI-I years of ollr growing have been the unstable ones of a world at war. They says an unprecedented attempt to destroy the things men live byf faith in onc another, belief in human dignity, truth as science, logic, and philosophy. Wie saw our loved ones, our schoolmates and friends, die to defend a way of life that is our responsi- bility to maintain. Wie learned early to enjoy working together, doing our small share as citizens of a democracy. W'e learned to think in terms of cooperative planning toward world peace. Many are the deeds of heroism we heard: we became familiar with all the name thc history books will carry. Democratic idealism, backed by the practical steps to attain it, was inculcated by a luan who, in the small sphere of one school, of one city, kindly, quietly, and determinedly taught citizenship by the example he set. To you, CLARENCE A. FULMER, the Class of January 1947 dedicate our yearbook and extend our heartfelt thanks for the example you have given to us, as well as to the commun- ity of true manhood, of unselfish living, and of real democratic citizenship.
