This is most appropriate, since one of the main objectives of education in a free society is to assist the individual student to develop a set of values and patterns of behavior which will cause him to use his full time and energy to good advantage. For the individual who succeeds in establishing such values and patterns of behavior, life is likely to be richer and fuller, and the community in which he lives better than it otherwise would be. It is our sincere hope that each of you as you assume the respon- sibilities of adult life will be determined to direct your time and energy in such a way that you will be happy and successful, and will make positive contributions to the community, state, and nation in which you live.
