The theme was the Roaring 20's and was carried out by the Seniors in a program that afternoon. Every class participated by decorating their room like the 192O's. That night there was more to come. The crowning of homecoming queen is the most im- portant feature in any homecoming game. This year's queen was Miss Becky Nash. Becky is also F,F.A, Sweetheart and has been a cheerleader for 2 years. Becky is very active in all school activities, and was very deserving of this honor. Becky's court was made up of Sharon Atwell and Sharon Mayfield. Sharon Atwell has been a majorette for 2 years and is active in all activi- ties. Sharon Mayfield has been a member of the drill team for 3 years and is also active in all school activities. As you can see, the student body did a good job of choosing the most deserving. Everyone enjoyed the homecoming and it will surely be a night to rem- ber for Becky and her court. The show was a real success and we would like to thank all of the contestants who shared their talent with us. There were thirty-one acts all of which were excellent. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Arey and Mrs. Neeley and the seniors who helped to make this show a success. We would also like to thank the judges who had a hard choice to make. Combos, Singers, Twirlers First place and winner of a 850 check was Winsonia Ransom, from Curry Jr. High. She did a dramatic monologue from Gone With the Wind. Charles Donaldson, a seven year old, won a trophy for reciting the poem, If by Rudyard Kipling. Then came the announcement of the winner and the two runner ups. We know the judges must have had a hard time in choosing the winners out of all of the acts, but they did a good job, Robert Branam and Larry Redmon won third place with their trumpet and drum act. , 'a 1 .Q .......... .. We were then entertained with a sheik and his harem dancers. The final part of the program included Aladdin and Genie. Nights I n 1 sf ,fm After the program, the Juniors and Seniors danced to a great combo, The Crow . The dance was emceed by Caleen Andregg. The prom was a great success and the Seniors would like to thank the Juniors for a great time. 1 'AB Commencement May 26, was a night of mixed emotions. It was an end of four great years, and some wonderful memories. For some it was the joy of not having to see any of the teachers again. For others it meant a new way of life. Still others had tears in their eyes as they realized that everyone would go their sepa- rate ways. But everyone agreed that those four years will never be forgotten and that the spirit of '67 will live forever. Tears and Laughter This year the Senior class wanted to try something different. So they worked hard to have a different commencement The program was on the Seven Lamps of Knowledgei After the speakers, the whole Senior class sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic. The class would like to thank Mr. Patterson for his hard work, and his patience in listening to some of the seniors sing. Senior Acfivifies Really Vick, is teaching Spanish that -A much fun?? . The Eagles displayed everything necessary to be a winner and could have easily won the District 11AA title had they not have had an off day against DeSoto, April 28, which saw them losing 2-1. The over- all record for the season was 12 wins and 8 losses. The district record was 4 wins and 2 losses. 'Q 'K ul '-qt. g Z.,-3, X3 V ..,t ' Alzll' A 'A Q' , .
