Junior High Junior High Gym Foreword The Publications Staff proudly presents the '65 Eagle. We have worked hard for many months to bring to you a book that will serve as a happy re- minder of the '64-'65 school year at W-H. We, the annual staff, hope that as you look through this annual you will be able to see that we have tried to make the annual YOU. Many persons have helped with the production of this annual andl would like to express my appreciation to my staff for their co-operation. Also, I would like to thank our sponsor, Miss Dyer, for all her patience, guidance, and encouragement. To the Seniors who are stepping forward into a new position in life, we hope that they succeed in all their desires. We want this annual to be a book of fond memories for them. To the underclassmen and especially the Seniors of '66, may we wish you all the happiness and fun that the Class of '65 had at W-H. Editor- in- Chief Linda Cartwright The Ex Students Association presented the Eagle Mascot this year to the Student Body The Eagle has accompanied the Students to various activities. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Ex-Stu- dents for giving us this School- Spirit Booster. The Publications Staff proudly presents the Eagle '65 dedication to Mrs. Isabelle Cummings and to Mrs. Gwen Duvall. Having completed eighteen years of teach- ing, Mrs. Cummings has retired from the W-H faculty. She has taught American history, World history, Civics, Economics, English, and Gen- eral Science. Mrs. Cummings received her Master's De- gree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University. We wish to salute Mrs. Cummings for her outstanding service and dedication to our school. Her sparkling personality and presence will greatly be missed next year around the halls of W-H. Eagle Dedication Mrs. Duvall has been a faculty member at Wilmer-Hutchins for four years. She received her Bachelor of Science De- gree from East Texas Baptist. She has been sponsor of the National Honor Society for three years and sponsor of the Stu- dent Council for two years. She has been an outstanding teacher and friend to all of us, and her guidance and en- couragement is appreciated by everyone. l. if '-iii -f f 'Xa ,V -2- 3:12 'KZ - . FRONT ROW, Cartwright, Mrs. Wilson Warren. orne to Order Mrs. RAY HARDISON, S uperintendent To the Student Body: Aided by the contents of this book, may you have fond memories of your 1964-65 school year in Wilmer-Hutchins High School. To those of you who will not be returning au revoir. May you ever cherish the years you spent here, the friendships you formed here: and may you so live that Wilmer-Hutchins will always be glad to claim you as one of its own. To those who will be with us again in September, may you resolve to work harder for scholarship, to be more tolerant, to be honest and straightforward, and to be a leader toward improving Wilmer-Hutchins High. With your help much can be accomplished: without your help, little. Sincerely yours, Bill Garner Principal SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE May this yearbook of memories serve as a record of past pleasures and as a means of re- calling the values your school has endeavored to impart. I congratulate the Eagle Staff and their sponsor on this fine publication. My first year with you has been a most pleasant one. I truly value the cooperation I have received from the students, school per- sonnel, school board and patrons of the school district in making this a successful year. To those who are leaving our school, it is my sincere hope that we have helped to plant in you the desire to become worthwhile citizens, remembering that the most component part of a democracy is human relations - respecting the dignity and the integrity of the individual and the group. May your future be so planned and managed that the important experiences of your life may bring you both honor and satis- faction. Ar? Administrative MRS. ALICE BARBER Cafeteria Supervisor MRS .
