Miss Brookhart, our teacher, was there to greet us and to help us get started on the path of learning. We passed on to our second grade with Mrs. Eichar trying her best. When we got to the third grade we thought we were pretty bright kids, but Mrs. Weiman soon brought us down to our level, Finally we made it to the fourth grade, and Mrs. Bain tried her best to teach us reading, 'riting, 'rithmetic. Mrs. Bowen and Mr. Sipe, in the fifth and sixth grades, respectively, tried to teach us a few more subjects. Then, Junior High, at last. Big Stuff, we thought. We were lucky to have Miss Dent as our sponsor. We had our first class parties that year. Before we knew it we were moving into the eighth grade, with Mr. Compton as our sponsor. We had a lot of fun until the end of the year when we started worrying about the eighth grade state tests. Those that were lucky to get honorable mention didn't have to take the final exams. Time was really flying. High school was here. We were, then, green freshmen starting projects with our sponsor, Mr. Griffith, pushing us. What a group! I We ended our freshman year with a big treasury of 3.50 with which to start our sophomore year. Mr. Games was really very lucky. He had us our sophomore, junior, and senior years in high school. Poor Mr. Games, just about pulled the REST of his hair out trying to get us to do anything until our senior year when we really pepped up. Allin all, class plays, and all of the activities have kept us busy. We truly appreciate all of the things our teachers have done for us. I got into the plane and took off from my built-in airport in my back yard. The traffic was pretty heavy that day, but since that never bothered me, I started for town. I happened not to see a stop sign, and BANG! Another jet hit mesmack dab in the middle. No sooner had I been hit when everything turned black. lt seemed as if I was in a different world, but suddenlyl realized I was in INNER- SANCTUM. I saw that it was Norma James who had been the driver of the other jet, and while I was talking with her, wesawalarge object with big arms and legs coming toward us. It was carry- ing an object we soon recognized as a basketball. Immediatelyl knew it was Gary Kesler. Gary told us that he had been expelled from Dave Byer's Universal Basketball Team for bothering the coach's girl friend. We wished him luck and then went on. We moved down the dark, black hall of INNERSANCTUM, As we reached the door we saw a very flashy, striped suit. At first, we were rather reluctant about going down the hall, but something kept telling us to go on. As we moved on we soon recognized another of our old classmates as Jim Finch, who was the second gate keeper. He told us not to be alarmed but to go right on. We took his advice and started again. As we went on we saw something flying around that had huge, terrifying wings and looked like a bat. We dis- covered that it was Dick Samples, the Bat Man. It seems, he isn't a human being any more. Before too long we saw a sign that read, Mother Fletcher's Boarding House. We walked up to the door and knocked. As the door opened, we were welcomed by Betsy Estill who registered our names. The bell-hop, Bill Brotherton, showed us to our rooms. Since we weren't very tired, we decided to wander around some more. As we were going out we met Jeanette Voltz and Leon Kallenberger who told us they were on the Board of Directors here at INNER-SANCTUM. Their meeting had just ended, and Jeanette told us that they were still debating whether or not to allow J oe Clase to join them. He had retired from selling women's plastic hose. They werenft quite sure he would fit in with their crowd. They suggested that we go get something to eat. As we started down the long and cold hall, we ran into Paul Bollenbacher, who was commonly known as the Sheik, Paul had straight, black hair plastered to his head and also had a sporty mustache, He was formerly a professional gambler, Walking on we noticed our old CIHSSIHHIS. Donnie J ones, We asked Donnie about other members of our class, and he told us he would show us where they were. Very puzzled, we went with him into a large room where we saw a large machine with a number of knobs. He said it was a new kind of camera that could focus on any part of the world you wanted to see. He focused the camera on a large building on the continent of America. On the front of the building we read, a large sign, Krall's Home for the Mentally Wild, Donnie told us that Dr. Krall's worst patient was Ronnie Stetler. Everytime someone enters the room, his eyes bulge out at amaximum of six inches, his tongue hangs out and drips, and he waves his arms as if he is trying to fly. We learned that Dr. Krall's head nurse was none other than Vernie Frank. Donnie then focused the camera on the island known as Alcatraz. Donnie told us that John Goodwin was the warden there. We fotmd some other members of the class of '56 there, also. Inmate Larry Miller and his gang were there. Members of his gang were Jerry Dennis, the driver of swiped carsg Gerald Kuhn, the gunmang and Carolyn Charleston, the Brain, lt seems they were caught holding up the Town Pump for peroxide. Larry wanted his hair to match Marilyn Monroe's. Speaking of Marilyn we heard that she was losing out to Phyllis Baumgartner, a beauti- ful red head. Donnie told us that Linda Finch and Judy Byer were deported to Pluto because they chose to stick with their husbands who were Plutonian spies. He also told us that they just love children and the last time he heard they had 17 apiece, He was told this morning that Mary Ann Fisher had wrecked her 15th hot rod, That seems to be her hobby. As we were leaving, Ray Midlam and Gil Merkle came in, They used to be undertakers, but now they were going to manage Coach Games's all-girl basketball team. They said he was really proud of all his girls. I, Judy Byer, will the following, my ability to blush under any circumstances to Darlene Gibbons, my ability to let my hair grow to my sister Anne, and my love for home economics to Julia Suman. I, Carolyn Charleston, being of sound body and no mind, here-by will my cheerleading suit to my sister, Rosie, my majorette suit to one of the twirlers, my intelligent looking glasses to Softie Huston, and, last but not least, my love for sports to Anita Hughes. I, Jerry Dennis, with a strong back and a weak mind, will my ability to keep busy in the shop to Allan Baker and Larry Huston, my desk in the study hall to any jtuiior who likes a holey desk, and my flat top to Boyd Hey. l,, Betsy Ellen Estill, will my seat by the radiator that blows out cold air to Sharon Hoverman, my big feet, size 10, to Sondra Schlickman, and my love for school and the teachers to Phyllis Goodwin, who needs it.
