VARSITY TEAM The school year of 1948-49 proved quite a successful one for our athletics. Coach Games again placed a team on the floor that showed competent coaching and skill. The team won 14 games and lost 3 for their season's record, excluding the county tournament, which hadn't been played at this writing. Left to Right: Ted Hakes, .Tim Koch, Bill Marbaugh, Gerald Hoblet, Gene Painter, Vic Strickler, Phil Hileman, Vernie Luginbill, Don Caffee, and Keith Ross. RESERVE TEAM When the reserves wound up their schedule this year, they had a record of 12 wins and 5 losses. This record may not seem too impresive, but it provided the underclassmen with the much needed experience that it takes to make good teams in the future. From these boys, Coach Games will be able to draw the material that will build some fine teams in the next few years. Back Row: Gene Koch, Jim Miller, Gene Baker, Bob Hey, Gene Bienz, Coach Games. Front Row! Manager Ned Byer, Jim Fisher, Keith Ross, Gene Painter, Phil Hileman, Billy Schlickman, and Manager Don Black. 31
