SET US FREE TO BE FREE PEOPLE TO CARRY ON THE GILLILAND Presented by the Class of 1972 THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. We'd like to thank the following individuals: Mrs. Maloney for being our junior class advisor and especially for helping us with our junior prom; Mrs. McKenna who designed and made the crowns for the king and queen; Mrs. Mere for helping us with our junior prom and senior play; Kevin MacDougal for drawing our Zodiac signs for the prom; Mr. Myler for Photography for the yearbook; Mrs. Sodaro for directing our very successful senior play; Miss Sullivan for helping to keep the bank books and for her bits of advice; Mr. and Mrs. John Pedro for having the prom party; Mr. and Mrs. James Mason for having the breakfast; Mrs. Gabrielli for the painting at the prom; Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Patnode for being our chaperones on our class trip to Florida; and Mrs. Flora for her help and guidance through our last two years of high school. Jacques, Mrs. Flora, Advisor. 41 THE CLASS OF ’72 WILL NEVER FORGET MIKE ARNOLD- GREGG ASHLINE- the times we skipped school to go somewhere. ELLIE BAILEY- my first day in W. C. S. when Mr. Cioppa roared, Bailey! This isn't nap time! LETA BASHAW- Miss Sullivan's bookkeeping class where there was much talking and little bookkeeping. PATTY BLANCHARD- trying to put the Prom together, learning my lines for the senior play, and Miss Sullivan's telling me to be efficient. MARNE BOARDMAN- our gym class with all of its activity, and our spectacular prom meetings. GAYLE BRIDGE- my Junior Prom, participating in the senior play, and especially Miss Sullivan. MIKE CORROW- the prom, how I hated doing Mrs. Flora's compositions, how close I came to getting caught smoking in the basement, but never did? the fun I had with Arnold after the prom, the hangover the next morning, but most of all being a member of the class of '72. KATHY CURRAN- Mr. Creaser's math class where I learned the play Battle Ship and winning a red fire hat. GEORGE DEMAR- the great times in Office Practice where Miss Sullivan always called me 'Romeo' besides a few other things. MARK ESTUS- my extra-long lunch hours and the teacher's 'Where were you?' and Miss Sullivan's Business classes. ART FLORA- our soccer games and physic class. GREGG GARVEY- Mrs. Flora, her classes, lectures and dogmatic ways; 45 min. of typing and Miss Sullivan's eccentric ideas; us boys ditching the weed just in time; our class parties; prom (before and after! ) soccer; my love for the teachers and theirs for me! ! and most of all, my friends. PAULA JACQUES- Junior Prom, Senior Play and all of Miss Sullivan's fun Classes. DEBBIE JERDO- my battling my way through Mr. Cioppa's history class, and Miss Sullivan's telling me to stay out of the romantic hallway and the Marines. DOUG JERDO- the time in the lunch line when I was accused of petting. STEWART JERDO- when Mrs. Flora kicked me out of the hall and her always yelling at anyone for being late for class or school. MARK KNICKERBOCKER- the prom, the party, and the next morning waking up in the back of Doug's car. MIKE LACEY- Miss Sullivan's telling me 'efficiency is the key to success even if it is only with two fingers'. LOIS MacDOUGAL- the Junior Prom, the play and Mrs. Walker's undiciplined French class. CHRIS MASON- the great times I've had and the wonderful friends I've made, and Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Marshall. STEVE McKENNA- the time Mr. Cioppa said he was going to file me in his cabinet if I didn't shut up. LISA McNULTY- Mrs. Flora's yelling at me when I was talking in class to Greg while she was talking, and the times when Steve McKenna kicked me in Biology. STEVE MORGAN- watching those cigarettes fly when Mr. Barnes walked into the boys' bathroom. PAT OLIVER- the arguments (that I'd never win) with Mrs. Flora in English Class. DON SAYWARD- the time I accidentally threw my slide rule at Mrs. Flora; how rotten our dress rehearsal for the play was and how successful the play turned out; the class party at the end of the Point, yearbook meetings, typing class. DONNA SAYWARD- coming back to W. C. S. for my senior year, the senior play, band, the yearbook meetings, Mr. Creaser's math class, and all of the friends. GEORGE SAYWARD- the sports, girls, and my fun-filled days in English class. DEBBIE TART- midnight of our Junior Prom and the next morning! ' NANCY TART- all the activities of the class to get to Florida, the 6th grade minstrel, the play, prom, also the confusing yearbook meetings, and finally Miss Sullivan and the 1970 typing regents. CURT WEST- the mornings I was absent because of DIRE illness, the prom party- getting home at 5:20 a.m. and starting milking at 5:30, my short stay in bookkeeping class, my great love for history class, and the well-mannered and mature senior boys playing fox-and-geese during lunch hour. 42 UVdsr.
