Jack, +he fypical high school boy, excels in every sport however, he is no+ so arn- birious wilh his s'rudies. ln facr, he wears a dunce cap so much 'rhal his hair is growing To a poinr. The only Time he is in'reres+ed in a lecfure is when his new girl friend is Jrelling him no+ ro go io 'rhe Junior-Senior Prom wifhoui her. l-le is always very a+'renl'ive af lhose limes. g There comes a +ime in Jack's life when his viewpoin+ on lhe imporlance of cerfain suloiecls changes complefely. A+ +hir+een years of age he Jrhoughl girls were a pain inf +he neck, and good for nofhing bul' coaches during spelling resrs. As one can readily see, his opinions have reached rheir melamorphosis. Our women-ha+er now is found con- sianfly af 'rhe command of his more refined companion, whom we have called Jane, +he +ypical 'reen-age girl. Hmm! So The man wears +he pan+s around here. Noi from where we sl'and! Seriously fhough, in conclusion we musi admir lha+ Jack is an oufsranding person- if you don'+ believe it iusl ask him. THIS IS JANE l 1 lf we compare +he modern girl wiih fhe girl of iiffy years ago, we are ceriainly aware of a decided change. Fifiy years ago +he average American girl longed fo be a sheliered lady. She was expecled +o acknowledge male superioriiy, conceniraie on domesiic aris. and 'ro look lovely and say li++le. Times have changed! This is i950-+he age of 'rhe plunging neckline, Bikini baihing suiis, and women wresilers. The modern Jane swoons over Vaughn Monroe, and feels weak ai +he sighr of Guy Madison. Though she knows liifle of anyihing, she's always eager +o express her opinion-whefher you wani io hear ii or nor. She is ever posifive ihaf she, and she alone, will be 'rhe firsf woman president Yei There are similariiies also. Fashions have changed greafly, buf 'rhe average girl is siill ihe same inside. She has become freer and more independent buf ihe smari one knows +ha+ she musi be quiei, sweer and deiinifely helpless in order fo ge'r her man. Girls in Willows High always were and are Today iusi as screw-loose as ihose in any ofher school. When an unfamiliar male face is seen in fhe hallway, if is quiie common fo observe several feminine adolescen+s craning fheir necks in his direcrion, only +o walk smack-dab info a wall or some oiher olos'racle. Yes. lhis is a pidure of +he Willows girl-'rhe Janes of Glenn Counfy High School: ofherwise called 'rhe weaker l?l sex. Dear Bulch: These are a few snaps ol our new school and lhey surely loolc classy. Everylhing in 'rhc building is very modern.
