Along with placing third in the Proviso West Tournament, we had an undefeated conference season. Some people may say we could have gone further, but we can all be very proud of this team because all the players did their best. This year we had a major advantage, since we had two members that were three-year veterans to the varsity squad. Tom Hicks and Ron Dowiarz are our three-year veterans, while Scott Sanneman, Dave Christianson, Ken Carwell and Mark Kassner are two-year veterans. Also lanis Ludeks, a junior, added to our strength. Our bench strength this year was outstanding Seniors Pete Krogh, Ken Owens, Mike Howard, Scott Sanneman, and Ken Carwell were always ready to pull us through in crucial spots Another member of the varsity squad was sophomore Larry Luccessi. Our conference record this year went unblemished, since we had no defeats. We went to regionals with high hopes, but when we played for regional championship with York.. .we had our first defeat in thirteen games, which gave us a final season record of 20-5.
