Through the foggy statistics, however, there must go some praise. No where were there boys who tried harder, each week they came back think- ing the next game they would win. Outstanding on the team were linemen john Sohmer and Ron Sheldon and three backs, Dave Rutter ivoted most val- uable by his teammatesj, Gary Current, and Rick jantz. Defensively, much credit must go to the secondary, where boys like Tom Un- derwood, jon Harrington, Ron Sheldon, and Bill Hess did commendable jobs, along with linebacker Troy Oughton, who led in total tackles. jim Klick was voted most im- proved. Gary Current, Rick jantz, and Ron Sheldon were elected tri-captains. It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game. FROSH. Q ' s ss. The season ended with three consecutive victories and a record of five wins and three losses. This put our Warriors in second place in the Des Plaines Valley Conference. This year our players should each be congratulated for their individual achievements and their teamwork. Eight players made all-conference honors: Dave Christianson, Gary Galvin, Tom Hicks, Pete Krogh, Chuck Luttenbacher, john Marks, Mike Meranda, and Dale Sydnor. But they couldn't be a team without players like Ron Bailey, Ken Carwell, jim DeForest, Walt Krause, Chuck Lindley, Rick Nishimura, Mike Rowland, Nick Severino, and Mike Sarallo, who also proved to be excellent players. We got off to a slow start, but pulled through with first place in the Des Plaines Valley Conference. These boys have worked hard to keep up this title which we have proudly held for a lot of years. They all did a great job this year but the ones that we show extreme consideration for are Norm Rostocki, Glenn Bicicchi, Greg Neff, jim Martin, and Mike Considine.
