1 1 . 31 K., a VARSITY GYMNASTICS TEAM: FRONT ROW: Manager Robert Ruffle, Pat Comerford, Steve Stein, Philip Fass, Robert Wrozek, Tom Underwood, Robert Borsellino, Dan Pusateri, and Mitchell Maniglia. BACK ROW: Coach Llewellyn lffland, Jeff Taylor, Gerrick Vazquez, Jeff Olsen, James Gulliford, Robert Johnson, Craig Batzer, Tom DeForest, Jeff Meskan, and Mana- ger Pat McClusky. Gymnasts Take First in Conference The Warriors' gymnastics team posted a fine season record of 10 wins and 3 losses. The team took first place once again in Conference. The gymnasts started the season slowly by losing three out of their six meets. Then they sparked by winning seven straight meets with scoring reaching the the one hundredth point or higher. Junior Steve Stein contributed between 20 and 25 points per meet, and Senior Bob Borsellino averaged 15 to 17 points per meet. The rings team strongly averaged 17.5 points, which was extremely good, considering they lost their first man, Rick Vazquez, because of injuries. Individual first places went to Steve Stein on tramp and tumbling and free exercise, Phil Fass on ringsg and Jeff Taylor on side horse. Rich Vazquez made his comeback and took second place on rings. All in all, our gymnastics team obtained victory with hard work and dedication. This season the sophomores finished with a score of 9 wins and 4 losses and proudly took fourth place at the Wheaton Central Invitational. The team was good all around, but many individual Conference championships were won by team members. Tony LeGare took first on the horizontal bar, Mark Vazquez mastered the parallel bars, and Paul Martz took the Conference still rings championship. Next year's varsity team will benefit from these champions. The future looks even brighter considering that the freshman team finished this season undefeated with the record of 6-0.
