B. Sophomore baseball team has an excellent chance of winning the sophomore Des Plaines Valley League championship. A number of outstanding individual players return, such as George Thoreson, Wally Streid, Dave Paulson, Frank Croschere, Dave Muraski, Glenn Fencl, Al Brandenburg, John Hillan, Bill Tews, and Bob Pickarski. Our young freshman team of last year won the championship. We are looking forward to the coming year with anticipation. The freshman baseball squad should do quite well in the DPVL because of the good depth at each posi- tion. Also, almost everyone plays more than one position, which will be an asset to the team. The top pitchers are Mike Rowland, Tom Hicks, and Mark Vazquez. Ron Dowaiz and Gary Zizzo are good at shortstop and second base. Don Spratt is a top-notch catcher. Two very good outfielders are Stan Stevens and Randy Mucha.
