Despite this, it was still a good and successful year. They started the season with a win over York, and it looked as though they had the potential to go all the way. However, without games against Hinsdale South and East Leyden the season ended with an overall record of 3-2-1. Outstanding J.V. ball players on the offense included fullback Randy Foster, quarterback George Thoreson, tackle Phil Lindhorn, and guard Rick Siegfried. Defensively the Junior Brooks held their opponents to 35 points, while the offense scored 72 points. The boys who played well defensively included halfbacks Dave Harrington and Fred Moore, linebackers Bill Malone and Glenn Syverson, 2nd lineman Jim Prusa and Rick Siegfried. The sophomore gridmen finished the season with three wins against four defeats. Coached by Mr. Jordan and Mr. Wilkin, the squad showed what it was capable of putting out. On defense the Brooks had three stars: Bill Tews, Steve Dudasik, and Bert Baby Huey Holler. Offensively Jim Brooks and quarterback Steve Stein led the attack. Good luck next yearto this squad. A team that had been rated to finish fourth in the Des Plaines Valley Conference developed into a team of Fighting War- riors. As a result, a second consecutive outright Conference championship was brought to Willowbrook. The Varsity coaching staff was proud of the accomplishments of the 1967 Warrior team, for this team earned honors through hard work and dedication. This was best illustrated by the 22 seniors on the 1967 squad, for in their three prior years in football they had not had even a winning record. A Conference cham- pionshipintheir senior yearis an amazing conquest. The overall seasonal record for the Varsity team was 5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie. Tri-captains for the team were Doug Diller, Ron Kimball, and Chuck Tassio. Most Improved Player went to Dave Phelps, Most Valu- able Playerto Chuck Tassio, and the Sportsmanship Award to Bob Paulaitis. Coaches Evans, Janoski, Owen, and Loew want to thank the 1967 Des Plaines Valley Conference Football Champions fortheir cooperation and for being such a fine group of young men to coach.
