Office Occupations Increases Membership l The Office Occupations Club is the activity part of the Cooperative Ofiice Occupations program. The club officers this year are Allen Jardine, President, Ute Hoenighausen, Secretary, Patty Saviano, Vice-President, and Sue Kowalczyk, Treasurer. Cooperative Office Occupations 12 is a course offered by the business education department to seniors who have sufficient back- ground in business education to undertake a program of formal classroom training in school and office-trainee positions in the after- noon. This is a cooperative part-time program to train clerical workers and stenographic personnel through the cooperative education method. It is a partnership between schools and office employers. It includes, but is not limited to, secretarial, stenographic, and clerical positions, business machine operationsg accounting and bookkeeping, records management, and office supervision and management. A student-learner gains through practical experience without sacri- Hcing time in finishing a high-school education and has more in sight into office employment than an ordinary part-time employee, since it is agreed by the cooperating employers that they are assisting in the educational program. The related employment makes classroom instruction more meaningful and gives the student an opportunity to decide on needs for further education. His earnings help meet some high-school expenses and other needs.
