National Honor Societyis primary purpose is to give recognition to outstanding high-school students. This year the society participated in the Hlt's Academic television program. The criteria for membership in National Honor Society are character, leadership, service, and scholarship. junior candidates must have at- tained a 3.25 grade average, and seniors must have a 3.0 average. Membership cannot exceed Hve per cent of the junior or Hfteen per cent of the senior class. Final members are selected by a faculty vote. A junior member may be reelected in his senior year. Officers are elected by incumbent members at the beginning of the academic year. N .H.S. Willowbrook's chapter has been named the Carl Rowan Chapter and is under the direction of Mr. Harold johnson.
