Underclassmen Anticipate Good Season The sophomore baseball team, coached by Mr. Clint Evans, started the season off on the right foot by beating the Huskies of Oak Park by a score of 3-1. After losing their second game to York 7-4, they bounced back to beat a strong Wheaton Central team by a score of 2-O. The pitchers, jeff Conner, jim Mahr, and Bob Cortesi, are looking for a Fine season. In their first three games, the pitchers let up only one earned run. The usual starters are Dave Hare Harrington, Vern Bissett, Bill Prentice, Gill Golub, Rick Vazquez, with Bill Walkup and Rich Gourley alternating at number nine. The freshmen, coached by Mr. Lloyd Scholl, are a strong-looking team. After dropping their First game to York 6-4, they came back and crunched Weaton Central by a score of 8-1. Good luck to both teams. Thinclads Post Impressive Record This year, the Varsity track team won the DPVL indoor championship. All the boys did a goodjob in the Conference Meet and Hrst places were won by Harley jordan in the high and low hurdles, Craig Donath in the two mile, Ray St. Louis in the mile, and Bill Biliskis in the half-mile. During the season Craig Donath set new school records in the half-mile, mile and two-mile. Don Kuehnle and Craig Donath were elected co- captains of the squad. SOPHOMORE TRACK TEAM: FRONT ROW Tom Dudgeon, Steve Stein, Tim Wetzel, Steve Rodriguez, Al Albano, Larry Davis, Mike Divis, jon Thomas, Dave Reid, Mitch Mathena, john Pike, Dan Pyzik, jeff Palmer, and Paul Riedel, SECOND ROW: Assistant Coach james Tyree, Manager Brian Mullany, David Kimball, Russ Burr, jeff Kammes, jeff Meskan, Rick Siegfried, Mike Haas, Dennis Sugino, Stephen Spyrison, Bob Krzemienski, Tony Venezia, jay Fuger, Manager john Brown, and Assistant Coach L. The Freshman squad this year is the best the school has ever had. The prospects for the outdoor season are as victorious as the indoor season was.
