MEMORIES Congregated at the Little Theater for the first time since our mighty Mark- ham days, we entered Willow Glen as sophomores in September of 1956. We showed enthusiasm at our first rally and football game, while singing the school hymn, 'Gln the Shadows of the Mountainsn. . . electing our class officers, who were Ron Mewshaw, Gerry Gonsalves, Betty Moore, Buzz Erepo . . . decorating for our Sadie Hawkins' dance, '6Moonlight and Mushrooms. We elected Mariyln Friesen as Daisy Mae, while Bon Mewshaw posed as Li'1 Abner. Queen and king of the dance were our own little Helen Davis and Big,' .lim Wall. Our princess of the Willow Glen-Fremont game was Barbara Batten, and our princess of the big Willow Glen-Lincoln game was Betty Moore. We concluded our sophomore year with a successful class picnic behind the school gym. Our junior year began actively . . . We elected as our officers Betty Moore as president, Carol Hughes as vice-president, Diane Lytle as secretary, and Pat Perrone as treasurer . . . Princess of the Willow Glen-San .lose game was Betty Moore. We missed getting first place in wrestling by one match, with Bush, Connetto, Burke, Eggen, Machlen, Loracco, and Pelachi as outstanding contestants. Again we had our class picnic behind the school gym. Our very successful junior Prom was titled 'LApril Enchantment. And thus ended our junior year. Our class-mates were by no means idle during the summer previous to our senior year. Gary Anderson represented Wfillow Glen at Boys State, while Maydene Jenks was our contribution to Girls State. Don Nelson left during the summer for France where he studied for six months, returning to Willow Glen the first of the second semester of our senior year. Ah, our senior year! What a glorious time we had! Our officers were Mike Moretti, president, ,lack Bleicher, vice-president, Jeannie Leicester, secretary' Pat Yoggerst, treasurerg and Bev Beccarelli, recorder. We managed to control the student body in the fall and spring. Gary Anderson was ASB Presidentg Carol Watson was vice-president: .loyce Miller was secretary: and Don Enderton was treasurer Then in the spring we carried the ballots with President Frank Eggen,iVicf-:President Bob Bliss, Secretarv Marcia Gordon and Treasur El B u sf . ' ' Pr I riggs. Vile won the magazine drive, and our football and basketball teams tied with rivaling teams foli first place 1n the league. Fascinating Foreign Exchange student was Didier Degremont, a Frenchman. Our hard-working senior council was the first to draw up a constitution. Betty Crocker Homemaker of the year was Arlene Spina and Carol W'atson was the receiver of the D.A.ll. award. Our scnior play was 'The Night of January 16th. Remember Easter week? Remember the wild Argonauts initiation? The seniors picnicked at Balado Park and our senior ball theme was Kissmet.,' Vl'ho knows what the future will bring us after graduation, June 10?
