Under the guidance of the new vocal music director, Mr. Maynard Everson, the choir participated in the Lake County Festival at Paines- ville Harvey, the Brush Festival, assemblies, con- certs, and the never-to-be-forgotten contests. The spirit of the choir this year was excellent, and the members really put feeling into each song. The songsters are proud to belong to theACappella Choir of Willoughby and hope that future members will have the same pride. The Girls' and Mixed Ensembles also partici- pated in assemblies. These groups are members of the choir chosen by Mr. Everson for their ability to sing solo parts. Officers of this melodious organization this year were: president, Dick Byers: vice president, john Evansg secretary, Marty Brottg and treasurer, Carol Miller. Comer! BJWMZI NE of the most important musical organizations at W.H.S. is the Concert Band. Each fourth period these hard-working musicians practice concert and contest music. In addition to this evening prac- tice sessions are frequently held. This year the band held a Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, and parti- cipated in two assemblies, one featuring jazz. Social activities included a Christmas party and a picnic . Awards were given to senior members at the annual banquet given in May. The club's officers - president, jim Hartlineg vice-president, janet Steinbrennerg secretary, Peg Quinng and treasurer Anne Colle - kept the band straight on the road to success at the contests. Deep thanks go to Director Charles Ruddick who inspired the band in their efforts . 19
