“Dedicatm To Mr. James H. Harris, the class of 1954 fondly dedicates this volume of the Willistonian in appreciation of his valuable assistance and guidance in the preparation of this book. To him we are sincerely grateful. Mr. Harris, a native Wilmingtonian, graduated from W i 11 i s ton as Valedictorian of the class of 1925. Finishing his college work at Hampton Institute, he joined the faculty of Snowhill Institute, Snowhill, Alabama. There he taught science and mathematics. Later he served as principal of Fessenden Academy, Martin, Fla., where he found time to take part in many civic activities. Mr. Harris came to Williston as a teacher of mathematics and Phy- sics in 1950 and now serves as Assistant Principal and as chief adviser to the sttiff of the Willistonian.

foreword It is an amazing and wonderful truth that, whatever their sta¬ tion in life may be, Willistonians never forget the days they spent at their dear Alma Mater. The prime reason for the publication of this book is to keep green the memories of the days spent at dear Williston, memories of our scholastic accomplishments, memories of the friends we ' ve made, memories of the clubs of which we were members, and memories of many other activities in which we participated. We, the members of the Annual Staff, sincerely hope that this book will serve its purpose in every way possible. K Richard Irving
