MADWOMAN WINS 1ST IN DISTRICT 1ST IN AREA AND 2ND IN REGIONAL ALTERNATE TO STATE CONTEST! GOOD IOB' l This year the Willis one-act play received ex- ceptional honors in three separate levels of competition. On March 23, The Madwoman of Chaillot won first place in district 21AAA. Pam Sanchez was named Best Actress. All star cast consisted of Becky Teague and Thomas Kozelsky, Honorable mention were Sonya Mer- riam and Dawn Hunley. David Lowery won all- star crew award. In Area competition, Willis again swept first place. Again Pam Sanchez gave an excellent performance that gave her Best Actress of Area Il, AAA. Becky Teague, Sonya Merriam, Eve DeOre, Asa Hoffman, and Thomas Kozelsky swept five of the eight all star cast slots. All star crew was given again to David Lowery for working lights. Under demanding conditions at Bellville High School, Willis has only forty-five minutes to adjust their play to Bellville's facilities. At the end of an ex- hausting day, Willis won second place being named alternate to state. Pam Sanchez again won Best Actress. All star cast members includ- ed Sonya Merriam and Becky Teague and Eve DeOre. Honorable mention all star included Thomas Kozelsky. lt was a hard fall missing state competition by a hair, but the cast and crew of Madwoman did a superior job this year.
