1984-85 LIBRARY CLUB OF W.H.S. The LIBRARY CLUB supports the school's library VICE as an elective course and work as aides one period each dayp others volunteer time before school. Through money-raising activities such as book sales and pen and pencil sales, the club buys needed items for the library. A display case and autographed book were purchased this year. The local club is af- filiated with the district conference. An educational field trip is usually planned in the spring. Q1 Officers for 84-85 PRESIDENT - Becky Teague V. I:.T.A. FUTIJIQE TEACHEIQS DI: AMERICA aw The 1984-85 school term began with a bang. The iwillis TFTA Chapter received its first official charter from the Texas State Teachers Association, the spon- sor for all Texas Chapters of TFTA. The primary purpose of TFTA is to interest students in teaching as a career, as well as promoting .unity in the school between students and teachers. Another purpose is community involvement. ' TFTA provides its member with experience to idevelop the qualities and aptitudes basic to suc- cessful teaching. In the fall homecoming parade the TFTA members decorated a truck which won the Best Decorated Pick-up award and trophy. 1 On November 17, 1984 two sponsors, Mrs. ,Boenker and Mrs. Gutekunst, accompanied two representatives, Christina Muniz fPresidentJ, and .Donna jackson fVice-Presidentj to A8rM University to participate in District Vl Convention. l TFTA Officers for 1984-85 are President: Christina t Munizp Vice-President: Donna lacksonp Secretary: Charla Groce and Reporter: Sonya Merriman.
