' The Student Council consists of one representa- tive from each homeroom in the school. This year, beside the able direction of Miss O'Neill, Mrs. Brown, Mr. VVittlinger and Mr. Measer acted as faculty advisors to the Council. Every year the Council undertakes various charity drives. Through the efforts of the Council gift boxes were sent to the children in Europe. At Murray, L- Kieldgaardf P- Th0im various times during the years, Howers, expres- sions of sympathy, and get-well greetings were sent to students and their families who were ill or bereaved. Among the special activities of our school is the Student Council Party which was a big success this year. We have the Student Council to thank for much of the fine representation which is given our school. 'fra-if H f M ' My 1 , 441. ' Fil- ' i - Mr. VVittlinger, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Miss O'Neill, R. The yearbook staff, a group of hardworking Seniors supplemented by a few members of the Junior class, has spent a great deal of time to prepare this volume of the Searchlight for you. They started in the fall with their heads full of plans, and spent the last few weeks before the deadline with their hands full of work. The experi- ence they have gained is invaluable, the effort, the care and the thought they have put into it is irreplaceable. Now that it is published, the appre- ciation of their work and the satisfaction that it brings is the thing they'll remember best about the yearbook of '52, MQPAOOL Since the prime function of the yearbook is to record the activities of the school for the year, the yearbook staff has tried to represent all that it could as far as sports, classes, organizations and events are concerned. What is not included suffers from no lack of importance, merely a lack of space. To chronicle all that took place at VVilliams- ville this year would take volumes, and since that was impossible, the yearbook staff did the best it could, which, it is hoped, pleases you. Row 1-R. Blenzie, Sports Editor earcia Every month this year the student body, and the faculty as well, has looked forward to the sale of our school paper. The Searchlight has given excellent coverage to the important functions of the school year, supplemented by imaginative and sometimes hilarious articles and features authored by the students. The designs and the covers have been worthy of more celebrated, but no less en- joyable publications. vis, B. Yeiser, M. Pratt. The editorials and more serious writings have been thought-provoking, indicating that students at VVilliamsville are quite capable of serious thought, and the more humorous reflections have been in good spirit and also with thought behind them. Through good preparation and good editing a fine picture of school life, one that everyone who reads this publication is proud of, has been shown by the Searchlight this year. CAboz'eJ Hou' I-F. The girls got off to a good start this fall with field hockeyg the winter activities were basketball and volley ball. This spring, the girls had a chance to use the new tennis courts or to play base- ball. Among our intramural activities the G. A. A. ranks high, as is evident from the large numbers that participate each year and will continue, undoubtedly, to do so. This first season in our new school, under the direction of Miss Reginato and Bliss Eichenger, has been just as great a success as any we have seen before. Row 1-D. Buckleaw, C. Becker, K. Kieber, M.
