First Attempt. The seventh grade float The Sweetness of Vic- tory showed the spirit of Jackets making it count. the l a y e M i c stuffed I-ICIVIECCIVIING '86 by the Blennerhassett Corvette Club. After the parade, the floats were left on the basketball courts and the princesses and their escorts proceeded to the football field. The student body poured into the stadium, noisily filling the seats for the Homecoming thuse. It began with the introduction of the queen candidates, including: Ramona Davidson escorted by Andres Venuesa, Angela Watt escorted by Charles Hill, and Angie Wheeler escorted by David Adams. The pep assembly continued as the crowd, lead by all four cheerleading squads, yelled to support the team. At 7:30 p.m., the floats were paraded around the football field before the announcement of the winn- ing entries. Winning the junior high division was the freshman float entry, Roast'Em Jackets. In the senior high and organization divisions, the juniors and band took top honors with Squirt Witt and Sailing to a Victory, respectively. The best banner award was given to the seventh graders while the freshmen won the float's overall award. As halftime neared, the anticipation mounted as the queen's coronation time neared. The crowd cheered as Angie Wheeler was crowned 1986 Homecoming queen. Unfortunately, the Jackets lost the football game, but the outstanding dance, decorated by the student council, made the evening worthwhile! WILHISHAN 13
