Class f 19 9 Pentimento is the word used in art to describe the changes a canvas goes through over a period ofyears. Growth is the word that can be used to describe the changes that have occurred within ourselves during our time at W.H.S. In many ways we are like artists but instead of a canvas, we paint on ourselves. We are, however, more fortunate than any artist, in that we can still see the original painting no matter how time changes the surface. Unlike the artist who is bound by paint and canvas to the painting of one picture fat a timej, we are able to paint many pictures at once, discarding those which no longer serve our goals. Those discarded pictures are never completely forgotteng they are part of us forever. Who can forget the feeling we had upon entering W.H.S. for the very first time or the feeling of sadness while walking up to receive our diplomas and realizing those days of high school are over. But ahead, new paths lay open. We will spend many happy hours recalling our days at W.H.S., but we must also anticipate the many paintings which we will begin fand perhaps discardj before our canvas is completed.
