311245333 I am extremely optimistic about the oncoming track season. This will be my first opportunity as a head coach and I look forward to the challenge with a great deal of enthusiasm. We have an excellent team this year which contains many athletes of proven ability. Senior Derek Frazier was one of the outstanding all around weightmen in the area a year ago. Derek should prove even stronger this season. Warren Williams a sprinter came on very strong last year and the coaching staff is expecting Warren s senior year to be truely outstanding. We have a fine hurdler returning from last year is senior Mike Bell. Senior Harold McMurtrey school record holder in the highjump should keep us in good shape as far as the jumps are concerned. John Marino a returning junior was one of continues to improve John could prove to be unstopable in the future. Other athletes returning from last years squad who should help us a great deal are: Bill Barnett Javilin' Mike Bull Sprints' and Carl Allar shot put. I have no doubt that we should be extremely competitive in the 1978 season. We will certainly face stiff competition all the way through our schedule particularly from teams like Gateway Clear- view and Eastern. -Coach Keith Land , , , , , , , , the top middle distance runners in the area as a sophomore.
