Vp AD IVIIN ISTRATO RS AD IVI I N ISTRATO RS 09, 3 OUR PRINCIPAL IVIR. GUNNER wp l E , ... JJ - F His message to us: It is my sincere hope that in some small way we, at Williamstown High School, have assisted you in reaching your goal in life. History has recorded that success will seldom be the favor of those who abandon their goals. lt also has noted that those who make their mark in life have not sneered at the wisdom of yesterday, ignored the realities of today nor scoffed at the dreams of tomorrow. The dreams of our future for space travel, computerized society, peacetime atomic power and cultural fluency could not exist witho.ut the wisdom and experience that resulted from the wheel, abacus, gun powder and the printing press. Moreover, a focus on the future or reflection on the past seems meaningless without acknowledging the realities of the present in the attempt to at- tain our goals. Reality is that there is no achievement without effort, wages without work, reward without quest, life without love or success without a goal. You have been given the wisdom of yesterday and the reality of today but it is for you to determine the goals of tomorrow. E l
