G ass lQS'fOI7y ACT I In September of 1959 we walked onto the stage as Freshmen with 35 students. We were nervous and unsure of what our lines were to be as all green freshmen are. We were led through that year of planning by our sponsor, Mr. Paul Watts, and our president, Joy Roland. The most exciting and hot scene was our initiation. Mary Bobb Shipp represented our class as a cheerleader. ACT II As Sophomores, we were more at ease on this new stage and we played our scenes well. We begun the new act with a cast of 28. Four of our girls got married and left us to start a new play on their own. Our president was Jane Juett and our sponsor was Mr. Charles Alphin. Mary Bob Shipp, Sharon Mulberry, and Jane Juett were cheerleaders from our room. Tommy Walters, Jim Rodgers, and Bill Webb were on the basketball team. ACT III Having gained 3 and lost 6, we came up with a grand total of 25 to start our Junior year. We no longer had stage fright. We were sure of our parts and were learning our lines well. Mrs. Patsy Foree was our sponsor and Bill Webb was the president. We received our class rings before the end of the year. Mary Bob Shipp, Sharon Mulberry, and Loretta Daugherty represented our class as cheerleaders. Five of our boys were on the Varsity team and three were on the Junior Varsity. ACT IV We knew we were now close to the curtain on one play and about to decide which play we would enter next. This act was filled with the best scenes of all. One of the biggest scenes was our trip to Florida. Our sponsors were Mrs. Don Fuller and Miss Betsy Burgin. Our president was again Jane Juett. The next biggest scene was that of choosing invitations and being measured for caps and gowns. Then came our last thrilling but sad scene when we took our bows in our gradu- ation and commencement exercises.
