The senior class gratefully dedicates this yearbook to Mrs. Merle Sharp, our faith- ful sponsor who has patiently gone through many trying times with us during these past four years. When we refused to get serious and plan our events and practice our play, she smiled and tried desperately hard to make us understand the necessity of these things, never saying anything harsh or hurting anyone in any way. Inter- rupting her classes to get candy from the home economics room didn't produce any drastic effects, although we were told that we were eating up our profit. We all admire her lady-like ways and soft voice, although we haven't yet found out how she maintains them at all times. She never failed to be around when we needed her, and many times her husband willingly dedicated his services to our class, making our thanks double. With sincere appreciation, we, the senior class of 1969 gratefully dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Nolen V. Leach, our superintendent, who has served our school well and given his devoted services for our utmost benefit during his four short years here. We shall never forget his broad smile and understanding concerning everything we have done. We would like to thank Mr. Leach for the enthusiasm he aroused in our inspiring history classes, for his everlasting patience in coaching our basketball teams, and his grandfatherly personality that has kept all students in our school in the same family at all times. Our high school days would have been incomplete without him. PEPSI-COLA BOTTLING COMPANY Quincy, Illinois HAMILTON MOTORS La Belle, Missouri PEOPLES' BANK OF WYACONDA Wyaconda, Missouri

TO WILLIAMSTOWN COMMUNITY We, the senior class of 1969 feel honored to dedicate this yearbook to our community for many kind- nesses over the years. Reminiscing over the many years of school here at Williamstown High School, we, the senior class of 1969, proudly give our gratitude and thanks in these few lines to our surrounding community. The out- standing PTA of our community has worked its way to that special place in our hearts. Since 1953 the PTA has honored the athletes of our school during an athletic banquet held every year. At this banquet each athlete receives a small token for his exerted abilities of that year. The Alumni Banquet, a reunion of graduates of Williamstown High School, is held every year here at Williamstown. Graduates come from long distances just to shake the hand of an old friend, letting them know they have not been forgotten. Everyone belongs to that closely-knit family, remembering every detail of school as though they had left school only yesterday. We take pride in the attendance of our community at the separate eighth grade graduation which dis- tinguishes the grade school graduates from those of the high school. Although the eighth grade gradu- ations were not as highlighted as the senior graduation, the graduation was a cherished memory of all eighth graders. The people of our community will always be remembered for supporting any school event, regardless of the size or type. The students of Williamstown High School wish to thank our wonderful community for the following events which it has made possible through its staunch support: Athletic activities, our plays of our junior and senior years, pie suppers, OES and Masons honor of the seniors, Hornet king and queen crowning, Sophomore Pilgrimages sent by Federated Clubs, Boys’ State, Girls' State, senior trips, banquets, dinners, yearbook projects, school paper publication, talent shows, Kirksville Senior Day, National Honor Society meetings and inductions, district contests, and the ballfield lights which were instigated by Mr. Norman Merrell. Other well-attended events by our community are the operettas, both high school and grade school. We have had many operettas during Christmas and Easter holidays. We students here at Williamstown wish to thank you, our community, for supporting those of us attending the Kirksville contests, both academic and musical. Attending these contests, we displayed our knowledge with other students showing that much knowledge may be gained from a little school. Seniors who have graduated from Williamstown High School are grateful for the lasting memories of school days the community has given us. Baccalaureate and commencement will always be cherished in thanks given to the community for helping the seniors reach their long-awaited goals. Our sincere appreciation is given to the members of the Boards of Education, cooks, janitors, home- room mothers, and teachers for keeping our school as it is today for so many years. It will always re- main in our hearts as a home-away-from-home. Thanks to our community. It is our hope that you, the patrons of the school, will give us your support and make the paper something of a worthwhile project.
