SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In September of 1949, eleven little boys and girls bade our mothers good-bye and started our journey to grade school. Our class was composed of Melvin Jr. Allison, Ronald Lee Boecker, Barbara Jean Ellison, Lee Edward Lemmon, Lola Mae McFarland, Jane Ann Munzlinger, Rex Bishoff Nelson, Norman Lee Nichols, Karen Raleigh, Janet Shannon amt Sharon Kay Smith. Miss Mable Walker ivas our teacher. We were joined by Ida Louise Junk the latter part of the year. The second year we found we had lost Norman Nichols and Karen Raleigh from our class. Again Miss Mable was our faithful leader. This year we got to participate in an operetta en- titled The Lemonade Stand''. The third year Ida Junk was missing but the rest of the class and Miss Mable still re- mained. In the latter part of this year we were in The Tom Thumb Wedding . i4s we enrolled for the fourth grade we found a new teacher ami a new student waiting for us. Our teacher was Mrs. Ewing and the student was Raymond Strange. As the eml of the school year was nearing, Bonita Dady joined us. Mrs. Earing met us again in the fall of 1953, as we started on another year. It looked as though someone was missing—yes, Bonita Dady. For the sixth grade we found Mr. Earing was our pilot. We were sorry to learn that Raymond Strange had moved but in the second month of school Billy Patrick Weaver joined us making the enrollment of nine. Then, Billy Pat moved just before the close of school. As we entered the seventh grade we found Miss Mary Frances Olson waiting to lead us through that year. We also found a new lad waiting to join us. Russell Hollowell had moved to our district during the previous summer. During the first month of school, Rita Fern Ritter also joined our class. The second semester brought another new pupil. This was Lillie Riney. At last I Eighth graders! But Rita Ritter did not come. Tuo new girls were present, though. They were Mary Jane Murphy, and Marion Rash. Our class was composed of Melvin Allison, Ronnie Boecker, Jean Ellison, Russell Hollowell, Lee Edward Lemmon, Lola McFarland, Jane Ann Munzlinger, Mary Jane Murphy, Rex Nelson, Marion Rash, Lillie Riney, and Janet Shannon, Miss Olson was our leader again. In the fall of '57, we climbed the stairs with the rest of the high school. We were proud to be doing so, but stilla little shaky. We also found that our class was exactly as we left it last spring—all twelve of us returned. The high school faculty consisted of Mr. Hill, Mr. Stevenson, Mrs. Gould, Mr. Shirey, and Mr. Bowen. We all seemed to make it okay this year. When the bell rang the first day of our sophomore year, Lillie Riney wasn't with us amt in the second month of school, Marion Rash left, too. We found Mr. Goetz taking Mr. Stevenson's place this year. As juniors we thought this year was going to be a little more exciting—class rings, Junior-SeniorProm, etc. At the secoml semester, Mary Jane Murphy left us. Our staff of teachers had changed again, too. Mrs. Ferguson was in Mr. Shirey's room, and we found Mr. Van Meter sitting at Mr. Goetz's desk. Now, we are seniors and at the very gate of life. We greeted a new student this year, Bettie Hill. Again two new faculty members were present: Mrs. Simler was leading the music group instead of Mrs. Gould, ami Mr. Reed was hammering at the math students instead of Mrs. Ferguson. We were very sorry when Mr. Reed left us at the end of the first quarter, but Mr. Shirey finished the school year. Janet Shannon left at the eml of the second month of school amt became Mrs. Billy Doran. Is the 1961 graduating class, we now have: Melvin Jr. Allison, Ronald Boecker, Jean Ellison, Berrie Lou Hill, Russell Hollowell, Lee Eduard Lemmon, Lola McFarland, Jane Ann Munzlinger, and Rex Bishoff Nelson. u IIA CCA LA LI It EAS Elt VICE Sunday, May 7, 1961 Processional..............................................................
