SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 195 , we freshmen climbed the steps for the eeoond time, for we had had our classes upstairs when we were still eighth graders. But this time It was different. Now, we ■belonged11. Our class was conposed of Margaret Glas- gow, Martha Elchelberger, Joy Rose McClain, Joyce Boecker, Stella Ellison, Wanda Coons, Lavon Lemmon, Roger Nelson, Dickie Brown, David Llllard, Jimmy Llllard, Mike Ellison, Bobby Doran, and Bennie Scott. Our Instructors were Mr.Hill, Mr. Humphrey, Miss Harris, Mr. Moore, and Mrs. Gould. This year our citizenship class and Mr. Hill, our teacher, took a trip to Jefferson City where we visited our state capltol. The same fourteen were here when the first bell rang to start things rolling for our sophomore year. Mr. Reed, Mr. Hayworth, and Mr. Bowen now replaced Mr. Humphrey, Miss Harris, and Mr. Moore of the previous year. In February of this year, we gained a new boy, Billy Rlney, from Edina. In March we were sorry to hear that Martha Elchelberger s folks had sold their farm and were moving. However, Martha finished her sophomore year here with us. A farewell party was given for her Just before the close of school. It was during our Junior year that our class roster started changing. When we came back from the Thanksgiving vacation, we were surprised to find Margaret Glasgow's chair vacant. That year wedding bells rang for Margaret Glasgow and Joy Rose McClain. Joy Wolfe- finished the school term though. This year we had a new teacher, Mr. Shlrey. As our class was always accused of being different, we lived up to the accusation and had our Junior-Senior Bana.uet at the Pilot Room In West Quincy, Missouri. In the fall of 1957, we started up the steps for our last year. Our class now Is composed of the following: Stella Ellison, Wanda Coons, Joyce Boecker, Lavon Lemmon, Roger Nelson, David Llllard, Jimmy Llllard, Dickie Brown, Mike Ellison, Bennie Scott, Bobby Doran, and Billy Rlney. Our teachers this year are Mr. Stevenson, Mr. Shlrey, Mr. Hill, Mr. Bowen, and Mrs. Gould. We found that being was very exciting; but, also that this title carried with It much hard work and many trying experiences. This Is only a brief outline of our high school days here at WHS . They are days that will long be remembered by each of us. Thank you, WHS , for giving us a start In life. -Lavon Lemmon -Stella Ellison -Vanda Coons Rlce Market - Canton, Mo.
