But this time It was different. Now, we ■belonged11. Our class was conposed of Margaret Glas- gow, Martha Elchelberger, Joy Rose McClain, Joyce Boecker, Stella Ellison, Wanda Coons, Lavon Lemmon, Roger Nelson, Dickie Brown, David Llllard, Jimmy Llllard, Mike Ellison, Bobby Doran, and Bennie Scott. Our Instructors were Mr.Hill, Mr. Humphrey, Miss Harris, Mr. Moore, and Mrs. Gould. This year our citizenship class and Mr. Hill, our teacher, took a trip to Jefferson City where we visited our state capltol. The same fourteen were here when the first bell rang to start things rolling for our sophomore year. Mr. Reed, Mr. Hayworth, and Mr. Bowen now replaced Mr. Humphrey, Miss Harris, and Mr. Moore of the previous year. In February of this year, we gained a new boy, Billy Rlney, from Edina. In March we were sorry to hear that Martha Elchelberger s folks had sold their farm and were moving. However, Martha finished her sophomore year here with us. A farewell party was given for her Just before the close of school. It was during our Junior year that our class roster started changing. When we came back from the Thanksgiving vacation, we were surprised to find Margaret Glasgow's chair vacant. That year wedding bells rang for Margaret Glasgow and Joy Rose McClain. Joy Wolfe- finished the school term though. This year we had a new teacher, Mr. Shlrey. As our class was always accused of being different, we lived up to the accusation and had our Junior-Senior Bana.uet at the Pilot Room In West Quincy, Missouri. In the fall of 1957, we started up the steps for our last year. Our class now Is composed of the following: Stella Ellison, Wanda Coons, Joyce Boecker, Lavon Lemmon, Roger Nelson, David Llllard, Jimmy Llllard, Dickie Brown, Mike Ellison, Bennie Scott, Bobby Doran, and Billy Rlney. Our teachers this year are Mr. Stevenson, Mr. Shlrey, Mr. Hill, Mr. Bowen, and Mrs. Gould. We found that being was very exciting; but, also that this title carried with It much hard work and many trying experiences. This Is only a brief outline of our high school days here at WHS . They are days that will long be remembered by each of us. Thank you, WHS , for giving us a start In life. -Lavon Lemmon -Stella Ellison -Vanda Coons Rlce Market - Canton, Mo. Senior Class We, the Claes of 1958, In the town of Williamstown, the county of Lewis, and the state of Missouri, oelng in as good mental condition as usual, and In much Detter temper than usual, do hereby make this, our last will and testament. Everything heretofore will be void and of no essence or importance. I, Wanda Coons, will and bequeath my ability as sport's writer to Mary Murphy. I, Ben Scott, will my old coon hound to John Timmons. He only trees on basketball nights. I, Joyce Boecker, will my ability to get engaged to Mary Jane Murphy. Many happy years, Mary Jane. I, Dickie Brown, bequeath my sport's ability to any Doy who likes sports. I, Mike Ellison, will and bequeath my height to Jimmy Hudnut. Don't stretch too far, Jim. I, Stella Ellison, will my ability in sports to Lola McFarland. Oood luck, Lola. I, Billy Rlney, nereby will my 1957 Chevrolet to Keith Blshoff. Keith, watch the new speed law. I, Bobby Doran, will my way to get along with the girls to Marvin Ruschlll. Be awful careful, Marve. It's dangerous. I, Lavon Lemmon, do hereby bequeath my all around abil- ity to Jane Ann Muntllnger. I, David Llllard, will my place on the team to Ronnie Boecker. I, Jimmy Llllard, do hereby give my ping pong paddle to Joe McDermott. Use It to keep the ball on the table, ■Butch . I never oould. I, Roger Nelson, do bestow my track spikes to anyone who cares to work and train. Sometimes they get awfully heavy. We, the senior class, will our grades back to our teachers who sometimes had to be coaxed to give them. This will and testament are hereby ratified by: Roger Nelson, Jimmy Llllard, David Llllard, Dickie Brown, Mike Ellison, Ben Soott, Bobby Doran, Billy Rlney, Joyce Boecker, Stella Ellison, Wanda Coons, and Lavon Lemmon. -Roger Nelson -Jimmy Llllard Lewis County Motor Company-Canton Senior Class Prophecy Here In the year 1962, as we alt back and reminisce awhile, we think of the good old senior class of 1958 of Williamstown high school. First, we think of Joyce Boecker now married and has four kids. 8he didn't waste any time did she? Second, we think of Bill Riney, also married, and he also has four children. Isn't that a coincidence? He is running a filling station trying to support his still grow- ing family. Next, we think of Wanda Coons who is married to a man that owns a large farm down by the river. Then there is Stella Ellison who went to the city to start a career. She drives a Lincoln and seems to be quite successful. Lavon Lemmon is married but still working, disecting Insects, to send her husband through college. Surprisingly enough they have a bouncing baby boy. Next, oomee Roger Nelson who is going to oollege(Thanks to the disecting lndustryj). He gets his degree this year. He plans to teach mathematics and physioal education. Then there is the red-headed Jimmy Lillard. He always liked speeoh so now he can make speeches as president of the Polled Hereford Association. Mike Ellison is scratching his living out of the dirt by digging foxholes for the Army. He is making the Army his oareer. Then there is Diok Brown who now has four kids and is still driving a truck for Kenneth Tompkins. We couldn't forget Ben Scott who now owns a large game reserve. He studies music in hie spare time. Then there is Bobby Doran who is still working on his father's farm and still having fun on Saturday nights. Finally, there is David Lillard who is still trying to get through college. -David Lillard -Bobby Doran CLASS POEM Twelve seniors brave and bold, Will soon see what the future holds. Twelve years of hard work completed, We have gained some knowledge that will greatly be needed. Now that day is drawing near, When we shall bid good-bye to our friends. But we shall never forget this year. When we brought twelve years of wort to an end. Though the road has been rough, And we thought the teachers tough. We gained something no one can take from us. How we are ready for our future bus. -Wanda Jean Coons -Bill Rlney -Joyce Boecker CLASSOFFICERS President------— Vice-President— Secretary------- Treasurer------— Class Motto-—— Class Flower---— Class Colors---- ----------------- —Joyce Boecker — --------- -Stella Ellison -— ------------- La von Lemmon ---------------David Llllard Forward ever; backward never. —----------——----------——Red Rose --------------- -Red and White Martin's Locker - Wllliamstown, Mo Front Row: Bennie Scott, Bill Rlney, Joyce Boecker, Lavon Lemmon, David Lillard, and Mike Ellison.
