edi cation We, the senior class of 1955, proudly dedicate this yearbook to the P. T. A. for their many kindnesses through the years. Our P. T. A. has given more than enough to our school. Some of their many contributions include a scoreboard, basketball suits, warm-up jackets, helped pay on recorder, stage curtains costing $1800, lockers to go into girls' dressing room, utensils for the kitchen, store closet, and two duplicators given to make us have happier days. We students are grateful for these many things, and we shall try to show our appreciation in part by dedi- cating this yearbook to you, the P. T. A. —Jackie Rainbolt 1 7acuity MR. When the bell rang at nine o'clock, we all scrambled to our seats to see what was to take place next. Mr. LeDoux, the superintendent, introduced himself, Mr. Merrell, Mr. Blair, and Mrs. Gould. After introducing them, he had the freshman class introduce themselves. We were next to the largest class in high school, the pupils numbering twelve. They were: Patsy Timmons, Alice McFarland, Jackie Rainbolt, Weldon Brown, Betty Edwarck, Joan Smith, Rosetta Danforth, Buddy Fishback, Johnny Shoup, Francis Ellison, Jimmy Tripp, and Johnny Timmerman. The next September we came up the stairs again and found that we had lost Johnny Timmer- man and Joan Smith. We had left in our class Patsy Timmons, Alice McFarland, Betty Edwards, Rosetta Danforth, Buddy Rshback, Jackie Rainbolt, Weldon Brown, Johnny Shoup, Francis Ellison, and Jimmy Tripp. Our teachers were Mr. LeDoux, Mr. Merrell, AW. Reger, and Mrs. Gould. In the fall of '53, we came upstairs to find that we had some new teachers and another boy in our class. Bill Murphy from Wyoconda High School. Our new teochers were: Mr. Corwin Bowen, Mr. John J. Moore, and Mr. John H. Ross. We still had Mrs. Gould and Mr. LeDoux. During the year we lost Patsy Timmons who married Billy Murphy. Last fall in '54, we came scampering up the stairs for our last time, as we were now seniors. We found that we had three new teachers: Mr. Woodrow Hill, Miss Harris, and W. Humphrey. Mrs. Gould and Mr. Moore were still with us from last year. We also lost two of our class members, Jimmy Tripp and Johnny Shoup. Jimmy Tripp had joined the Air Force, while Johnny Shoup had moved and was going to Kahoka High School. Our class consisted of Alice McFarland, Betty Edwards, Rosetta Danforth, Billy Murphy, Buddy Fishback, Weldon Brown, Jackie Rainbolt, and Francis Ellison. This is the history of our high school days. We have hod a great deal of fun at W. H. S. I am sure we shall always remember these days. — Rosetta Canforth CLASS OFFICERS President----------- Vice-President------ Secretary-Treasurer Reporter------------ Typists------------- --------------------------------Francis Ellison --------------------------------Buddy Fishback --------------------------------Jack Rainbolt --------------------------------Betty Edwards Rosetta Danforth, Betty Edwards,Alice McFarland 7 Prophecy One fine day in the middle of July, the year of 1965, the 55 senior class of Williomstown High collected in Williomstown for o reunion. After a picnic in the community park, the class members gathered around to spin the yarn of all their adventures since the jolly old days of Billtown High. Jackie had had seven years of adventure with the United States Navy. After his release from the navy, he had bought a farm near Williomstown and settled down to farming. There he re- sided with his wife and four children. (Twin girls.) Alice had worked about a year and a half as a secretary, then married her school-days' sweet- heart who was making his career in the U. S. Air Force. Bill had a farm near Fairmont and was engaged in farming. His wife and little David were hap- py to have more company around the house. For little David wasn't the “littlest anymore. In fact, he had three sisters and two brothers now. Weldon joined the U. S. Navy. After his release, he settled near the city of Kahoka, mar- ried his school-days' sweetheart, and started up in the trucking business. He is the proud father of four boys. Rosetta went to a business college, then landed a job as a private secretary. Later married her boss. She has two children, a boy and girl. They all live in Quincy. Betty June went to college for one year, then got a job with the U. S. Government, travel- ing in many foreign countries. She married and then moved to a farm near Quincy. They have three boys and three girls. Buddy was drafted into the U. S. Army, then after his release was engaged in farming with his dad. He married a girl whom he had met while in the army and has three children. Francis served his time in the U. S. Army, then returned to Williomstown and bought a farm. There he resides all by himself, but he is still looking around. We all hod a very enjoyable reunion and were glad to be back together once more. We are planning to meet again at Williomstown for another reunion in 1975. And until we all meet again, May the good Lord go with each and every one of us . Good-by until then. —Betty June Edwards 8 eua u iu We, the senior class of Williamstown High, being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make and establish this, our last will and testament, in order to distribute our possessions in this school among our successors at Williamstown High on this May 2, year 1955, as follows: Betty June Edwards wills her temper to anyone who can control it. For we shall soon pass out the school's front doors. To tread up the pathways of life which we've sought. Still giving our courses plenty of thought. Take Buddy. Now, there was a cheerful lad, A good friend of all, and he always felt so glad. Then, Francis, too. A merry old chap; With some of the pranks he pulled, he'd knock you flat I Now, here comes Jackie, the class artist for sure; There was nothing at all he wouldn't try to endure. Weldon, I'm sure, we shall forget him not, For the laughter he created really hit the spot. The last of the boys was none other than Bill, The boy with prospect and a determined will. Rosetta so good-natured and a friend of all; She would aid anyone just by hearing his call. A merry young girl was Alice, too; She was always looking for something to do. Betty liked to help and was full of fun. Several mischievous pranks, did she, but no harm done. And so we are, this senior class. As time moves on and this step we pass; It's one step in our lives we shall cherish and remember forever; The senior class, teachers, underclassmates, and school building: Forget them ?
