Class Prophecy Time waits for no man. It presses onward and onward to the land of tomorrow. Concerned with what the future holds in store for sixty-three W.H.S. Seniors, I have con- sidered it my responsibility to call upon my extraordinary powers. Being gifted with the ability to foresee the unknown, I now fulfill my humble duty in revealing to you this prophecy for the Class of 1958. It is the year A. D. 1978. Vaguely in the distance I can discern the outline of a gigantic object that slightly resembles-why, yes, it is a hugh rocket ship. Inside, I see two stewardesses, Sybil A. and Pat B., preparing their prominent passengers for the launching. I recognize up front a very notable group of gentlemen in the midst of a discussion. They are none other than Kenneth G., rocket and mis- sile expert, who designed and built the X-79V4 in which they are riding. Roy R. and Billy B., conductors of the world's largest electronics school in Chicago, and. jon G., author of the current best-seller, How It Felt to Be the First Man on the Moon. Mrs. Bowen, formerly Nancy Lou T., is sporting a diamond almost as large as one of the rings around Saturn. Seated next to the aisle I see Shelton C., mid- dleweight champion of the universe, who is en route to Jupiter for his bout with the Martian Monster. The champ's manager, David C., is warning him to watch the tricky footwork on jupiter, since there is no gravity on that planet. Next I see the business tycoon, Paran W., owner of the Belk-Tyler-Wheeler chain stores. His two private secretaries, Peggy S. and Frances j.,tare busy giving him a manicure and lighting his cigar. Over here I see another great athlete, Gay- lord P., who last year pitched four no-hitters and clouted 16 home runs to clinch the World Series for the Senators. Here is Professor Crissie G., math and his- tory teacher at Columbia University in her spare time. Speaking of math, I also see mathemati- cians Bonnie J., Genie G., and Sally Grey G., who have recently published their theory con- cerning time and space based on the calculation 2x : 6x 5. A brilliant piece of deduction, if I may say so . . . I see the illustrious engineer, Bill C., who has just constructed the bridge con- necting Pluto and its third moon. R. Rawls is on his way there to become director of the Plutonian Highway Patrol. Near the back I see the President of the American Dental Association, jimmy C., and his assistant, Pearl P. They are both rather disgusted because they forgot to pack their toothbrushes. Oops! I almost didn't recognize this sus- picious looking character. She is Mary Charles B., F.B.I. counter-counter spy. Here are Nancy R., Peggy T., Leona C., C. Holliday on the way to the Secretaries' Conven- tion. Behind a cloud of smoke, I see Guy T., the successful industrialist who is president of and official sampler for the American Tobacco Com- pany. He is entertaining. a group of telephone operators, which includes Mary Ola G., Georgia J., Rachel C., and C. Hardison. I see three ladies, Roberta H., Mary H., and Betsy D., discussing the fashion trends in the Parisian space suits. They are outstanding au- thorities in the field of home economics. I see four school teachers, Betty M., Sandra M., Dot M., and Mary Lynn P. They are sitting spellbound, completely fascinated by the popular crooner, Nat King Abernathy. Interior decorator Boo G. is a bit under the weather, and Dr. Beth S. has diagnosed his illness as a slight case of air-sickness. I see A. P. G., renowned country and western music singer. Walter W., owner of General Motors, is helping him tune his guitar and get the squeaks out of it. I see housewives Shirley B. and Janie N., who are with their families on a vacation to the Neptunian Riviera. I see S. M. R., celebrated nuclear physicist, winner of the Nobel Prize for his discovery of Newton's Fourth Law. I see models Lois W. and Christine R., asking Danny M., television star of Make Room for Danny, for his autograph. The distinguished gentleman I next see is Secretary of State R. Reese. He is meeting with the joint Chiefs of Staff, Admirals joe M., :jimmy G., Gerald C., and Generals Ralph P., Ray P., Roger M., and Gerald S. Secretary of Agriculture Dail R. is also in on the meeting. Nurses Neoma C. and Betty jean R. are representing the Depart- ment of Health, Education, and Welfare. And last I see the award-winning pilot of our rocket ship, jacy M., who has crossed the sound barrier 197,564,428 times, but has never heard anything equal to the noise that this re- united Class of 1958 is making. Impossible? Indeed not. It is crystal clear that there are big things ahead for these Seniors. None have known my accurate predictions to fail. After all, I am the great and gifted Madame Quack.
