The Williamston Home Economics Club is organized under the capable leader-- ship of Miss Williamson, who is also State Home Economics Club Advisor. The purpose of the club is to encourage girls to have a greater interest in home and community life and to promote friendship and social experiences between students interested in home economics work and the other school organizations. Some of this year's outstanding activities have been the Annual H.E.-F.F.A. Pheasant Dinner, Christmas Party for the smaller brothers and sisters of the club members, instruction of grade girls in Home Economics, in exchange meetings with the Okemos Club, the Annual Mother-Daughter-Banquet. The club also regularly assists in serving the many dinners, banquets, and teas. The Home Economic Club officers of this year are: Barbara Allen, President, Norma Hitchcock, Vice President, Irene Snedeker,,Secretaryg Bethany Hausa, Trees. Since organizing the chapter has gained considerable recognition in the commun- ity and the state due to the out-standing program. The Music Department The Music Department of the Williamston High School is under t h6 direction of Miss Viola Brody. That the different groups have shown marked improvement this year has been proven by their several concerts The High five members. The Band will participate in the annual Band to be held at our Band will ert Overholt, and Robert LaFerrier in the drumming section. School Band is the largest group, consisting of thirty- Festival Mason the eighteenth of May. Several individuals from compete in the State Contests this year. They are Rob- coronetg John Cooley, Elizabeth Cooley, Wilton Goetz The Glee Club has two sections, Junior, with twenty-four members, and Senior with thirty-five members. A group picked from these two sections will sing in the annual Song Festival which will be held at Williamston, April 20th. Our A Capella Choir is a new organization, having taken the place of Do Re Mi Club, this year. It has sixteen members, chosen from the Senior Glee Club. Mr. Edward Cooley has assisted Miss Brody this year in a drumming class of seven members. In the spring of each year an Operetta is given by the Department. The cast and choruses are chosen from students music classes.
