DEDICATION The class of 1987 wish to dedicate our yearbook to our class advisors, Mrs. Mary Ellen Rosencrance and Mrs. Shirley Sieg- fried. They demonstrated their dedication by sticking with us through all our trials and tribulations during the three years of school. Even when our class membership dropped to 10 students they provided the encouragement and support for us to con- tinue on to success. We thank them for sitting through all our haphazard class meetings and patiently listening to our suggestions and offering their own. Also, for giving their time to assist with our class activities and fundraisers. Not only have they been terrific class advisors but they have also proven to be role models whom each and every one of us look up to and respect. Is this the class advisor glow? Class advisors: Mrs. Shirley Siegfried and Mrs. Mary Ellen Rosen- crance. RECOGNITION The class of 1987 would like to recognize Mrs. Cellini, alias the lady at the desk. For the past three years she has faithfully delivered our messages and our mail each day. She has been a friend, listening patiently to our complaints and letting us know when we were getting out of hand at 1 AM in the dorm. Most importantly she cheered us up and made us smile. For all those things and more, we thank you, Mrs. C! Mrs. Gladys Cellini. Residence Director What do you have hiding in that drawer ? THERE WAS A GRAND OLD SCHOOL There was a grand old school. A school of brick walls and brightly lit halls. A school of laughter and of tears. A school of ac- complishments and fears. A school where young ladies and gentlemen throughout the years have come to prove themselves worthy to hold the title Registered Nurse. A school where failure is a constant fear, but where the sense of accomplishment can bring a feeling like none other. A school which teaches not only anatomy and pathophysiology but how to love and how to give 100% of oneself. A school where friendships are formed that will last a lifetime and memories are made that will continue forever. Pictured in this book are people who have played a significant role in our education. The people at the WHSN are similar yet very different. Our present goal is to achieve being the best professional nurse that we can be. Each of us brings our own unique qualities to the role of professional nurse, but we all strive for the excellence that is expected of us. Al- though we could be an O.B. nurse, or maybe an ICU nurse, and even work in the OR, we will all prove ourselves worthy to hold the title RN thanks to the education- al background we received from TWHSN. Mrs. Derr maintains communication between administration, faculty, and students. She oversees that we are provided with good educational experiences. The hospital administration continues to further our education by its support. ' Mrs. Eleanor Derr, Director of Nursing Education. Skillfully using her wealth of knowledge with facts and figures, Mrs. Perry lessens our financial burdens. Her willingness to help is greatly appreciated. Keeping TWHSN spotless is the goal pursued by the dedicated Minnie . Minnie Snell, Environmental Services. SECRETARIES AND INSTRUCTORS Mrs. Brenda Scott. Nursing Education Secretary, and Mrs. Carol Leathers, Clerk-typist. The class of 1987 would like to remember our freshman instructors. Miss Karen Peterman, Mrs. Anne Kremski and Ms. Nancy Hood. Even though they are no longer an active part of TWHSN they will always be remembered as the instructots who initiated us into the world of nursing. They demonstrated alot ot patience, kindness and understanding as well as, knowledge of nursing which helped us better prepare for our Junior and Senior years. Freshman instructors. Carrying on with the Grand Traditions 13 Through the past 3 years, we have spent uncountable time studying and preparing for clinical. But since all work and no play makes a boring time, we found time to relax by sleeping, taking walks, running, watching TV, going out to eat together and sometimes just by goofing off. Allyson, are you still reading Psych? Allyson 14 A little heat would be nice Bottom left: Did you know that track is a prerequisite to nursing? We have matured and strengthened our characters from the first day we gathered in the lobby at TWHSN for our Freshman orientation. Many thanks to all the families, boyfriends, instructors and friends who helped us along the way. Even though our class is small in quantity it is very large in quality. Class advisors. But often, it ' s the hands-on care that determines the level of excellence for a hospital. That ' s why The Williamsport Hospital Medical Center has developed the finest nursing team in Northcentral Pennsylvania. Education and experience are the hallmarks of our nursing team. We have the highest percentage of Registered Nurses (R.N.s) in the region. Each of our nurses receives specialized education in their area of practice making each nurse an expert and insuring the best possible care for our patients. And, at The Williamsport Hospital Medical Center, the best-possible care means individualized care. A new nursing system focusing on individualized patient care has been initiated by which a single expert nurse is responsible for all the care a patient or group of patients will receive. This one-on-one approach insures a patient is cared for as an individual and that the nurse has a complete understanding of all the patient ' s needs. Your nurse is there every step of the way to provide expert care, answer questions, or simply make you more comfortable.
