There have been many changes in the school. Do you remember when the school ' s tuition was only $350.00 in 1942? Today the tuition is $1 1,100.00. At one time the comple- tion of the nursing program took a short fifteen months of training, but now it takes three years to gain the knowledge of a registered nurse. Also, at one time, no married female or male students or students with chil- dren were allowed. The early uniform was ankle length with ruffles and starched removable collar, but this was changed in 1948 to a blue and white pinafore with a starched two piece apron. At times we may think we have it bad. At one time the students spent twelve to sixteen hours a day on clini- cal. Thankfully, that was reduced to eight hours a day. Also, there were mandatory study hours from seven to ten p.m. and lights out at ten p.m. with bedchecks. The year 1973 was very important for the school. First of all, the school was honored with the achievement of NLN accreditation.
